Here you go, Mom!

Now that the weather is cooling down I am reluctantly pulling out my spent flowers. I pulled out nearly half of them, then remembered that I promised Mom I would take pictures of the house while they were still in bloom. Oops! Oh well, I planted enough to open up a small nursery so here it is...minus half. This is the first summer I avoided getting into a color scheme. Instead, I planted everything I liked. Some of the best compliments I've had over the summer were when a man stopped his car and told me he loved the "explosion of color" in our front yard. Or a dog walker who told me she always walks down our street because it's such a treat to see all our flowers. Sheesh! The truth is, I love flowers. I love picking them out with the kids, planting them with Kayla and watering them with little Maisie. I think they are beautiful and even though I love all four seasons I'm sorry to see them go!
