I am thankful for my Dad who served 26 years in the US Air Force. He retired when I was very young and so my memories of his service are few. I vaguely remember walking down the sidewalk with him at the base and seeing people stand and salute him. I remember him pointing out airplanes in the sky that were similar to those he flew.
So many Americans take for granted the freedoms that we enjoy. We have a voice in our government, we aren't martyred for our faith, we have abundant food and clean drinking water (nearly half the world doesn't) These are not rights, they are freedoms that were purchased for a price. Thank you, Lt. Col. John Bitton, for serving our country and being a wonderful Dad.

I love Veterans Day. Not only do we get the day off from school, but we also get to celebrate the people who fought for our country! I love you all tons!
Love,
