Last weekend we traveled to Cosmopolis, Washington for a memorial service for Christian's grandpa Jim. "J.D." McClintock lived 95 years. Christian and Erika reminisced about summers spent in Cosmopolis with their grandparents. They will have a life time of memories of time spent in Cosmopolis; catching crawdads in the nearby creek, walking to the candy store for fish candy, the sound of their grandpa's gruff voice and the size of his big heart, and their grandma's gentle ways and home baked pies.
J.D. and Shirley made a life-long impression on Christian. One of his fondest memories is of the Thanksgiving before his grandma died. She was quite frail and he humbly watched his grandpa serve her and speak of how much he loved her. Christian was moved by the depth of love he had for his wife.
Christian loved his grandparents. He misses them but is also thankful for the many memories he has of them.
